Mission & Goals
The establishment of AENEAS was announced by ENIAC on November 30th, 2006, after its founding members had signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
The mission of AENEAS is :
- to represent R&D performers in the Joint Undertaking.This part of its mission will therefore consist in:
- co-establishing and participating in a Joint Undertaking to implement a Joint Technology Initiative in the field of Nanoelectronics.
- looking after the interest of the respective R&D actors in the Joint Undertaking by establishing the Industry Board within the Joint Undertaking.
- gathering and contributing the funds necessary for the operation and organisation of the association, Joint Technology Initiative and the Joint Undertaking.
- to adopt and continue the activities of the European Technology Platform ENIAC by:
- promoting R&D and innovation in the field of Nanoelectronics, in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the European Industry
- stimulating and coordinating actions to implement the Strategic Research Agenda of ENIAC
- developing and keeping up to date the Strategic Research Agenda
- advising on all structural and regulatory matters relevant to create and maintain a climate in Europe favorable to education, research, development and innovation in the field of Nanoelectronics and to the economic growth of the corresponding sectors of industry.
